My testimonial to Dhanashri 0n her website

I woke up to ‘yoga’ only 18 months ago, being inspired by Debbie’s yoga classes. Joining the teacher training course felt like gravity was drawing me to it, a ‘knowing’ that I needed to learn more from this wonderful teacher and I have not been disappointed. My expectations by the end of this course are open, with no actual plans to teach yoga. I just knew this course was for me, to expand and deepen my knowledge of the yoga philosophy as well as deepen the work on my postures and flows. Also, to get to know myself and my strengths/weaknesses. Now, half way through the course, I understand why I am here. Debbie’s passion in her teaching, the fantastic handouts, her huge sharing and generosity of experience is inspiring. It has felt like another piece of my life’s jigsaw has clicked into place. For me, this course is not just about yoga, it’s about incorporating the philosophy, the practices, and feeling of well-being into my life. I’m loving every minute of it.

My bio on Dhanashri website

25 years ago my pathway meandered towards this wonderful world of mind, body and spirit - how we are all connected. I trained to be a homeopath and all these years later I still love working with my patients, helping them as their journeys evolve. What also awoke in me was a need to learn more about what had always been a deep interest of mine - our hormones. This soon became a passion. I gravitated into lecturing, helping others to become homeopaths and this included teaching the anatomy and physiology of the endocrine system. It became a natural progression that my interest in the chakras should evolve. I brought them into every aspect of my life including the way I work and teach. As my journey progressed it seemed more than just ‘fate’ that I should find yoga and the wonderful teacher - Dhanashri. I remember very early on during her teacher training course we discussed ‘OM’ and I knew then I had indeed found hOMe. My expectations by the end of the course were open, with no actual plans to teach yoga. I just knew this course was for me, to expand and deepen my knowledge of the yoga philosophy as well as deepen the work on my postures and flows. I began to link what I already knew and taught with what I was learning about the eight limbs of yoga - wow! My teaching broadened, and Dhanashri gave me the space to share my knowledge with both my fellow and future students. How amazing is that - to teach my passion!

Her november timetable

My passion is hormones – all of them! Both my grandmothers had a difficult menopause and both died while they were going through it.  As well as the usual hot flushes and night sweats they also suffered from depression and mood swings.  This was in the late 50’s, long before such things were discussed openly.  The knowledge of this made a lasting impression on me and 25 years ago as I began my homeopathic studies, it reawakened my interest in the endocrine system.  I studied it in detail; how it works, what happens when it goes wrong or when we go through natural changes.

My work combines the chakras within this wonderful system and during my TTC training with Debbie my knowledge deepened even more.  At your November TTC weekend I shall be taking you on a journey through the endocrine system.  The theme will be the pineal gland and it’s role alongside the other glands as well as the relationship it has with Ajna chakra.

I look forward to meeting you all.
